These Terms are the rules for using Friend by Friend. When you sign in or use the site, you accept them and the Privacy notice. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

What Friend by Friend is

• Friend by Friend is a tool to share a cause. A person donates a small gift outside this site and invites friends to do the same.
• We are not a charity and not a payment service. Each donation option names the recipient, which may be a registered nonprofit. We never hold or move money, and we do not promise refunds.
• We do not issue tax receipts.

Your gift

• You donate on another site or app (for example PayPal, GoFundMe or a bank). Your gift goes straight to the recipient shown on that donation option.
• We do not refund gifts. If you want money back, ask the recipient. The recipient's own rules apply.
• We do not promise how the recipient uses the money. The cause closes as soon as the goal is reached.
• Give only money you can afford to give. A gift is your own choice.

Totals and checks

• The totals on the site come from receipts that donors upload. An AI service reads each receipt, and our team checks some of them. The totals are not audited.
• The AI can make mistakes. If a check is wrong, write to us and a person will look at it.
• The family's own statements about money received are final.

What you must not do

• Do not upload a fake, edited or reused receipt.
• Do not upload a receipt for a gift that you did not make.
• Do not make more than one account to donate or to invite more than the rules allow.
• Do not use a name or alias that is hateful, that copies another person, or that shows private details.
• Do not try to break, overload or scan the site.

What we may do

An admin may remove a gift, block an account, or change a name or alias that breaks these Terms. If you join by a friend link but do not donate in time, we may release your spot. If you donate without a link, we may place you under another person on the tree. We may close a cause or stop the site at any time.

Your account

You sign in with Google, Apple or a passkey. Keep your sign-in safe. You are responsible for what happens with your account.

Age

You must be 18 years old or older to use Friend by Friend.

No warranty and limit of liability

The site is given "as is". We try to keep it working, but we do not promise that it is always available or without errors. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from your use of the site, from a gift you make, or from how a recipient uses a gift. Nothing here limits a right that the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes

We may change these Terms. The date at the top shows the last change. If you use the site after a change, you accept the new Terms.

Governing law

The law of the State of Washington (USA) applies, unless the law of your own country gives you rights that we cannot remove.
